There were some thing in the lecture that I found interesting. First off, I thought that there were many good points about the Great Depression and the axis powers. Points in which I could use for the upcoming quiz. I also found it interesting how when Hitler in his times in prison wrote an autobiography. Finally, I found it interesting how in 1935, the first AAA ensured parody prices for basic goods. Also how it had millions of farmers to produce less.
It was amusing to learn that one of the Nazi Military groups were called storm troopers. I found it unsettling that France and Britain so often sign treaties where certain key nations are not represented or present. Also, learning about how the Austrians and Czechoslovakians reacting to the German invasion was very thought-provoking. Their actions seemed cowardly and unthinkable, and yet I wondered if I would do the same if faced with a similar decision--and that bothered me about myself.
I find it interesting that the government actually pays farmers to burn their crops in order to keep the economy under control. Secondly, I never knew that the dust bowl was so bad that people were suffocating due to the dust in their lungs. I like how the Wagner ensured the rights of unions. Thanks to Roosevelt, people were allowed to protest and and openly speak their mind about wages.
Also, it’s interesting how policies from the 1950’s are being used today. Although they didn’t work then, it’s great that they can work now.
Today we learned about the Great Depression and the Axis Powers. We discussed the Second New Deal, the Dust Bowl, and how the Agricultural Adjustment Administration would ensure parity prices; and artificial shortages were even created. Adolf Hitler had attempted to take over Germany and failed, but eventually became “Leader”. He made three new groups and targeted the Jews.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
